About the Artist

Beth began taking painting and drawing classes at the Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park in 2006, with the goal of becoming a landscape painter.

Through classes, workshops, and independent study, she has developed her painting skills and found great joy in representing Florida’s waterways, boats and wildlife through both plein air studies and studio paintings based on those studies.

I like to spend a lot of time on a painting in my studio, because I enjoy both the process and the results I get from painting in layers. I think I can do a better job of conveying the essence of a place I’ve visited if I take my time to build up the painting. I use my plein air studies, which preserve my impressions of a particular location, as references for my studio paintings.

Her work has been accepted into a variety of juried art exhibits in Central Florida, and has received awards from the Art League of Daytona Beach and the Mount Dora Center for the Arts. Beth is currently a guest instructor at the Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park, is a member of Studio 807 on Virginia Drive in Orlando, and was the featured artist of the 2018 Mt. Dora PaintOut.
